Roof Radiation Shield
The Roof Radiation Shield is a firestop component that protects rafters and other combustible materials where the Class A chimney passes through the roof. It ensures the required 2" clearance to combustibles at the roofline.
- Required when using a Roof Support Bracket in a cathedral ceiling installation.
- Required when the chimney is enclosed in a chase immediately before it passes through the roof.
- Not required in flat ceiling installations (with or without attic), where a Ceiling Support Box is used and the chimney passes directly through the roof with standard Roof Flashing + Storm Collar + Cap.
