Step 3: Gather Your Tools
Everything you need for a standard installation:

- Drill with screwdriver bits
- Flathead screwdriver
- Utility knife
- Caulking gun with high-temperature silicone sealant

Step 6: Install the Top Plate and Rain Cap

- Trim the liner flush with the top plate or leave a small amount above it (per manufacturer instructions).
- Secure the top plate to the chimney crown with screws and seal all joints with high-temperature silicone.
- Install the storm collar around the liner where it exits the top plate. This seals the gap against rain.
- Attach the rain cap on top of the liner. The cap keeps rain, animals, and debris out of the flue.
