Most installations combine both types: black steel for the visible indoor connector, stainless steel for everything above the ceiling. The connection between the two systems is made at the ceiling support box, which acts as the transition point.
Compatibility: Black steel connector pipe and stainless steel double wall pipe use the same standard diameters (80mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 180mm, 200mm).
